Defamation & False Claims Policy

Last updated: 24 Jan 2026, 11:17 AM

This Defamation & False Claims Policy governs how users may make claims, complaints, statements, or allegations on the eBuy.store platform. It exists to protect individuals, experts, sellers, buyers, and the Platform itself from reputational harm, coercion, and abuse.

1. Purpose of this policy

The purpose of this policy is to:

  • Prevent false, misleading, or malicious allegations
  • Protect users and experts from reputational harm
  • Prohibit threats, intimidation, or coercive behavior
  • Preserve safe and fair dispute and grievance processes

This policy does not restrict legitimate, good-faith complaints raised through proper channels.

2. Good-faith reporting requirement

Users may raise concerns, disputes, or grievances only in good faith. All claims must:

  • Be truthful to the best of the user's knowledge
  • Be supported by evidence where reasonably available
  • Be raised through official Platform channels

False or reckless allegations are prohibited.

3. Prohibited defamation and false claims

Users must not:

  • Make knowingly false statements about other users, experts, or the Platform
  • Publish unverified accusations of fraud, theft, or illegality
  • Spread misleading narratives intended to damage reputation
  • Escalate private disputes into public accusations

Statements made without evidence or outside proper channels may be treated as violations.

4. Threats, intimidation, and coercion (explicitly prohibited)

The following conduct is strictly prohibited:

  • Threatening legal action to coerce refunds or outcomes
  • Threatening to file police complaints, cybercrime reports, or media exposure without basis
  • Intimidating sellers, buyers, experts, or staff through messages or conduct
  • Attempting to pressure decisions through fear, harassment, or repeated escalation

Such behavior is treated as serious misconduct, regardless of dispute merit.

5. Expert-related claims

  • Expert opinions are professional opinions, not certifications.
  • Users must not accuse experts of fraud, corruption, or bias without verifiable evidence.
  • Disagreement with an expert opinion does not justify defamatory statements.

Concerns regarding experts must be escalated through support or admin review.

6. Platform reputation protection

Users must not:

  • Publicly misrepresent Platform actions or policies
  • Claim Platform endorsement, negligence, or wrongdoing without factual basis
  • Publish misleading content implying Platform liability

eBuy.store reserves the right to act to protect its reputation.

7. Enforcement actions

Violations of this policy may result in:

  • Content removal
  • Communication restrictions
  • Account warnings or limitations
  • Account suspension or termination
  • Legal action where required

Actions may be taken with or without prior notice.

8. No substitute for legal process

The Platform is not a court or investigative authority.

  • Users must not treat Platform disputes as legal determinations
  • Allegations requiring legal adjudication fall outside Platform scope

eBuy.store may cooperate with lawful authorities where required.

9. No waiver and final authority

  • Failure to enforce this policy in one instance does not waive future enforcement.
  • All determinations under this policy are final and at admin discretion.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect:

  • Platform risk mitigation needs
  • Legal or regulatory requirements

Updates become effective upon publication.
